I have managed the design, build and delivery of unique solutions that transformed corporate goals and objectives into reality by implementing effective systems, procedures and governance to facilitate rapid business growth. 

  • Planning, establishing and continued maturity of a Project Management Office encompassing standardized project methodologies, metrics and governance within the organization.  This dramatically streamlines the entire project life cycle, ensures projects align with business strategies, facilitates resource integration and eventually delivers high quality, on-time and within-budget products or services in an efficient manner.
  • Introduction and adoption of Project Management disciplines and practices while also ensuring the successful implementation of SCRUM as a project and development methodology.
  • Managed 18 month large project that encompassed a complete redesign and re-launch of major, (travel related) consumer website.  This new and ‘award winning’ website led to an increase in online transactions, customer satisfaction and contributed greatly to the company’s bottom line.
  • Successful development, launch and deployment of extensive software application to clients in Europe, Asia, Caribbean, Canada and the US.
  • Managed a major co-location and business continuity project encompassing the distribution and replication of systems and data throughout three facilities in various states.
  • Managed the R&D phase and selection of Mercury Winrunner and Test Director as the tool of choice for automated testing within the IT department
  • Led a major internal research project for deploying a large Oracle backed application via server based implementation model, (ASP), using Citrix Metaframe.
  • Evaluation, selection, vendor negotiation and implementation of Enterprise/Network Operations Center solution that also encompasses internal infrastructure and staffing changes.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE 

CompuPay, Inc. - Miramar, FL.  (March 2007 to Present)  

Tasked with introducing Project Management practices, controls, standards and disciplines into the organization as they grew through acquisitions and residual expansion.  With growth came an increase in workload and the existing operational activities needed refining to ensure continued success.

Helped successfully introduce an agile/scrum approach to software development, while also implementing proactive risk management, collaborative approaches and technologies, standardized reporting and project closure/review processes to facilitate perpetual improvement to the project lifecycle.

A new initiative we also established was that of a formal approach to project/program planning, prioritization and approval.  This will lay the foundation for future project portfolio and governance activities.

Acted as the project manager during the later stages of a major undertaking to redevelop the company’s B2B online payroll website and back-office systems.  The project objectives are to review the existing legacy system built on Coldfusion and an HP database, rewrite everything in dot-net and MS-SQL architecture followed by conversion and support of existing clients.

As the Senior Project Manager in the company I was given the lead role in establishing a PMO for the organization and instituting corporate wide, (SOX compliant), procedures, methodologies and best practices to facilitate prioritization, initiation, planning, execution, control and reporting of projects.

With the PMO established, the focus shifted to continued improvement and maturity through process refinement and the identification and implementation of best practices across all projects.

Worked to identify, lead and motivate an enthusiastic team, which, when coupled with diligent monitoring and response to scope, budget and time variance from the baseline, is a key element to any project’s success. 

Adhering to best practices, I worked with project stakeholders and project managers to ensure requirements are assembled, deliverables and expectations set, risks identified, costs agreed to and work executed to a high standard.

As lead programmer, I led a team through the entire life cycle of designing, developing, testing and maintaining a ‘Marketing and Sales’ software system for worldwide installation in vacation resorts.  

Directed numerous teams during system implementation, which encompassed defining business needs, determining deliverables, assembling resources, application deployment and user training.
